Today was a fabulous day! Great time at work, received an unexpected piece of good news and lastly, a super yummy dinner with my WSC pals.
Participated in the NEOP with 18 other new employees and we had a fun time! Had ice-breakers, team building activites and also a short visit to Finlayson Green, which is our customer service center. Got to know a lot of people during the program and i felt i could fit in with them (as if i was part of their permanent staff), though they kept emphasizing that i was the youngest... this made me really want to join AIA after i graduate... simply love the friendly and people-oriented culture there!!
GM came to welcome and address the crowd... hmm.. he seems like a nice & fatherly person. I also managed to go into another GM's office yesterday to pass him a confidential document. He is another nice person, asked for my name and chatted with me... unlike some bosses who think that interns will not be around after a month or so, so they may not bother to find out anything about them... not trying to arrow anyone, just stating in general..
Had nice morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea provided... was really great having everyone mingle around and getting to know one another... now i really appreciate Dr. Templer and why we learn about having orientation programs in our 'Selection & Assessment' class.
Looking forward to the visit to AIA Changi tomorrow and lunching with the new staff! Also looking forward to it partly because i do not have to stay in office and do work! Simply wonderful... 2 days no need to do work, just join in the NEOP and have fun... But tomorrow i need to facilitate the team building activity... need to speak in front of the new staff and instruct them on how to play the game... hmm.. nervous sia... wish me luck & success!
Received a piece of good news which made my day too... this week is supposed to be my last week with Training & Development... but apparently the Recruitment team is not so busy this period and do not really need my help... so i will continue to be attached to Training until the last 2 weeks of attachment! Yeah... cos i like my supervisor and cant bear to go help out at another department so soon... hee..
Buffet dinner was a fabulous one... the desserts and cakes were simply HEAVEN! The chocolate cakes, cheese cakes... my god... just make you salivate (got this word?). The best thing was, we dont have to pay the extra charges... in the end, only need to top up $2 each after utilising our vouchers! Damn cheap dinner lor... hee! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
