Met up with the sec school clique this afternoon at Minds Cafe (Prinsep Street, opposite Paradiz Centre)... same concept as Settlers but the venue is more spacious, with more tables and i think, more food on its menu... as for price wise, its more or less the same...
But one advice for first-timers, better leave when your time is up if you're not willing to pay extra... cos they will not 'chase' you away when your time is up and then will charge for the extra time stayed...! I think they should at least inform us that our time is almost up and ask if we want to extend, and not just charge us... we paid about $2 more (per person) for exceeding half an hour!!
Anyway, we played some great games today! 1st was called Telepathy (i think, or something like that)... a pair in each team...
For instance:
Team A lands on a square marked '5' and chooses a card with the word 'animal' ... the 2 members will have to write out 5 words associated with animal
Player 1 writes:
zoo
farm
cow
dog
cat
Player 2 writes:
zoo
moo
noisy
cow
dog
So there are 3 same words and they'll get to move 3 steps.... so on and so forth... pretty fun game and xm and i won!! Yeah, friends for 12 years, ought to have some telepathy between us la!
We also played Bohnanza, a card game... very very fun! Requires a little thinking and strategy... and takes quite long...
Here's a little description of the game:
"Bean farming was never so much fun! In Bohnanza, you have two or three bean fields and a handful of bean cards to plant in those fields. With clever trading, you get the cards you want without helping the other players too much. In the end, the player who earns the most gold is the winner!"
Minds Cafe is celebrating its 1st anniversary this june so there are some promotions going on... we spent over $50 and got to participate in some lucky draw... won a $10 discount voucher on our next visit! Xiaomin's lucky hands... Whee~
Had another feast this evening... last sunday's was 'Uncle strike 4D' treat and today is Fathers' Day cum 'Another uncle strike 4D' celebration... wahaha! I'll grow fatter by the day if they are gonna treat every weekend... haa
Anyway, i shall end off with a collage that i FINALLY figured out how to make using photoshop... manz, i'm a photoshop-idiot la... its my 1st time trying and got very fed-up arranging the various photos, so i just arranged everything in an organised and boring manner... shall attempt again!
