Series of unexpected events...
Was helping my colleague for a Science Outreach Program for JC/Poly students 2 days back... everything turned out fine and almost all the possible hiccups we foreseen were handled timely. The students made their presentations, poster sessions, tea-break and lunch went on well, Chairman arrived and seemed satisfied...
The most unexpected had to happen when we were rounding up Part 1 of the program. It was during the prize presentation when the fire alarm started to sound. As usual, we thought its one of the frequent testing or false alarm. We continued, bearing with the sickening alarm.... until another colleague barged into the theatrette with a security guard and informed us that there was a REAL fire at the basement level and we had to evacuate the building. There were nearly 100 of us in the theatrette, even our ED and DD! Fortunately the students were cooperative and we managed to evacuate back to our building without much problems. Thank god Part 2 of the program went on successfully.
Colleague's dad passed away. Went to the wake during lunch earlier... seeing him so tired, not resting and eating... i felt so sad. When i told him to take care, i teared. I tried to hide but he saw and asked why are my eyes watery. Sigh... i am so useless. He is definitely feeling worse than me and i had to tear, making him feel bad.
On half day leave today so went back after the wake... shopped alone and i ended up spending 70 bucks! I am such an impulsive buyer... the bright red dress caught my attention when i walked past the shop. I was excited and suddenly had the urge to sms someone... but oh well... not at this time i guess. Anyway, i went inside the store to take a closer look. Tried it on and i simply loved it so off it went home with me... bye bye $$$$ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
