I decided to update a little in case you guys miss me... =P

May was a month full of excitement cos i went on 2 trips! 10 days to Korea and a short weekend getaway to a kelong at Johor. Both trips were fun and i really enjoyed myself! So much so that i just cannot get back into the mood for serious work!! To think that i have a symposium coming up in 2 weeks time and a conference in July!

Went on a 8 days tour package with Jo for the korea trip, plus a 2 days extension... i am quite skeptical about package tours for fear of the tour members and no flexibility in terms of itinerary. However, i was surprised by how much fun i had with this tour group... for one, there were about 5 other ladies in the group who are of similar age group as us! Naturally we clicked and hang out together, taking photos and all the jokes and crap we could come up with! And we're meeting up for dinner next week - post-korea trip dinner... and you guessed it, we're going to have Korean food!!
Not only i had great company, the tour guide (we call her Bonny-jie) was great and professional! As our group consist of the very young (20s) and the very old (70s), she managed to balance the activities such that it is fair and fun to everyone. I love her and Cindy-jie who really took care of us and helped us loads!

With the lovely ladies!

As for the kelong trip, it was a rare experience for me. The environment was peaceful and totally no handphone rings and sms beeping, really great for relaxing! The weather was wonderful as well, cloudy with a bit of sun so i got a little darker which i loved!

In fact, some people were quite surprised that i agreed to go as i'm not really the outdoor person... but well, just tagged along with colleagues of mine and get out of my comfort zone... i had fun anyway!

There isn't much to do at the kelong actually... unless you love fishing and know how to play mahjong, you will be bored to death? Fortunately, we also took the boat out to another island (Botak island) and did a little trekking up the hill and also went to a beach where we played old school games like 'Dog & Bone'. While the rest played mahjong, Kathy and i entertained ourselves with poker, uno and carom which was great!
